Several cat breeds are known for their wonderfully fluffy coats, including Ragdolls, Persians, and Maine Coons. While their tails may not always be as dramatically 'puffed' up as their bodies, they can certainly stand erect.

Ragdoll Cats
Ragdolls are a beloved fluffy cat breed, often called the 'fairies of the cat world,' renowned for their striking appearance and placid personalities. Their fur is long, plush, and silky, without a dense undercoat. This means that while they have lots of fur, they don't mat as easily. However, regular grooming is still essential, including the use of specialized grooming solutions. To keep a Ragdoll's coat in top condition, brush them at least once or twice weekly with a soft-bristled brush. This is important because their lack of undercoat means you can easily feel their skin while petting them.
Persian Cats
Persian cats are one of the most popular long-haired breeds, frequently seen in television and movies (like Mr. Tinkles from *Cats & Dogs*). They boast long, thick coats with an impressive ruff around their neck and a luxurious tail. Their plentiful fur requires daily grooming to ensure it remains at its fluffiest best. The tail is definitely something you wouldn’t want to miss while petting them.
Maine Coon Cats
Maine Coon cats are well known as one of the largest cat breeds. When we think of Maine Coons, we immediately think of their incredible fur. Their coats are thick and incredibly dense, perfectly suited for cold climates, and are perfect for both the North and South. Even the fur between their paws is dense, providing insulation and protection against frostbite in winter.
